OFFENDER SERVICES
While under Piedmont Court Services' supervision,
offenders may receive many services including those listed below:
Random drug/alcohol testing
Outpatient drug and/or alcohol treatment
with licensed clinical counselors
Substance abuse education
Community Service assignment
Visits to Lunenburg Correctional Center

Visits to the Virginia Correctional Center
for Women arranged
Department of Rehabilitative Services

Referral to local Community Services Boards
for monitoring of medication, evaluation, and counseling

FY06-07 ACCOMPLISHMENTS
In FY06-07, Piedmont Court Services supervised offenders who paid a total
of $50,844.83 in restitution.
Offenders in FY06-07, performed 32,593 hours of community
service. This number of hours, based
on the $5.15 minimum wage rate is equivalent to $167,853.95. in taxpayer dollars.
PLACEMENTS/RECIDIVISM RATE
From the inception of Piedmont Court Services in October 1983 to June 30, 2007, 1,796 of the 13,450
offenders supervised by Piedmont Court Services were placed under our
supervision on more than one occasion.
The percentage of those repeat offenders supervised by Piedmont Court
Services totaled 13.35% of all probationers placed under our supervision
during the past 24 years.
