Select this link to go directly to Information For Sending A Specimen To The CRC For The First Time From Dr. Fugazzotto:
Dear "Victim" of pelvic disorder: (UTI/IC, Prostatitis),
I have your request to participate in the Cystitis Research Center (CRC) program for accessing the cause of your pelvic disorder (UTI/IC, etc.) It has become obvious from prior experience that you may not have adequate understanding of the complexion of the testing process, just from a telephone call or third party explanation. Therefore, I think it would be well to have the information spelled in print, before you embark blindly on the program.
Diagnosis and Patient ManagementWhen your urine specimen is tested in the traditional manner, it is processed by plate count technology. This means that when organisms appear in "sufficient" numbers, they are reported to the doctor as the cause of infection. Literature based on this philosophy has listed 20 and more different bacterial species as the infecting agent. The patient may harbor more than one of these, and is treated by the doctor on his interpretation of such results, giving traditional "cure all" antibiotics.
Please be assured that my program is not a guessing game. Under scientifically valid testing conditions, microorganisms do tell the truth. In tests on thousands of urines, I have found a small group of interrelated long recognized pathogens, among the organisms mentioned above. In tests for any other disease entity, the diagnosis is made on finding the organism species representative of that specific disease. My processing of urines uses the very same technology to find the respective UTI/IC etc. pathogens which respond uniformly to the same antibiotics, also applying to other specimens.
Now for your participation:
SPECIAL ATTENTION:Please understand that while the CRC program is basically a diagnostic procedure, typical of all other disease entities, it does involve constant vigilance on your part, guided by periodic follow-up tests and consultation.
COSTS INVOLVED:First of all the financial arrangement is NOT a charge, but on a donation basis, which amounts to the approximate cost for the materials involved in performing the tests, and to provide the results. For these alone, (exclusive of my own input)., a minimum of $30.00 U.S. FOR EACH SPECIMEN is needed. Incidentally, sending more than one specimen (urine, swab, semen, etc.) in a mailing does not reduce the materials, and effort involved for each. Furthermore, periodic follow-up testing is advisable to determine need for antibiotic adjustment. This test (nowhere else available) will in time result in reducing exposure to excessive antibiotic. Which is not possible without direct laboratory evidence.
IN CONCLUSION:With all of this information in hand, if you decide to proceed. Please advise, including a check of at least $30.00 U.S. per specimen, and you will receive a packet with specimen vial(s), and instructions. This program has had participation of more than 1700 (this number is now actually much higher!) others (and their physicians) across the U.S. and outside of the country, with most gratifying results in those who continue as needed.
I assure you that the CRCs classical pure culture technology (as used universally in diagnosis of all other microbial disorders i.e.; fungal, viral, bacterial, parasitic) is focused on finding the cause and monitoring the progress, so medical practice can cease to be a "hit and miss" proposition. Also with regard to any reservations about sending specimens by mail, you can be assured that contrary to layman concepts, microorganisms do not undergo change in their native quality from a few days in the mail, any more than animals penned up in the zoo. (Heredity does not change with environment, as for people, plants or animals.) I certainly hope to have your affirmative response.
