On May 23rd, 2004, a parade was held in Downtown Farmville to celebrate the 250th Anniversary of Prince Edward County. Community members
put a lot of effort into producing an entertaining array of floats to celebrate different aspects of Prince Edward's history. It was an unseasonably hot day for May
and some of the costumes were definitely too heavy for the weather but the parade participants braved the heat and marched cheerfully down Main Street. Entries were judged and the winners are detailed below. Many more events are still to come as part of this
250th anniversary celebration. More details can be found at the website: http://princeedward250.org
The parade was sponsored by: Benchmark Community Bank,
Haley Automotive of Farmville,
MoonStar,
and Tri-Boro Shelving & Partition Company
